In September 2022 Xplornet became Xplore. Read more here.

Snidey’s has been an Authorized Xplore Dealer since Xplore (then Xplornet) first started offering Internet to rural Nova Scotians. Of course, Internet technology has changed a lot since those early days so now, Snidey’s, the local Xplore sales team, connects people living and working in rural Nova Scotia to the best there is – fibre Internet.

“It’s an extremely rewarding project for us. Now, our clients in Annapolis County can do everything from home that people can do in downtown Halifax. They can Zoom and Netflix and all the things that people need to do now, no matter where they live,” said Snidey’s owner Shane.

Currently, he and his team are busy connecting customers to Xplore’s fibre Internet network in Annapolis County.

Snidey’s Outbound Sales Representative, Peter lives locally and spends his days having conversations with his Annapolis County neighbours to make sure they know that fibre is available.

Once Peter’s neighbours hear about the benefits of fibre, they call into Snidey’s and speak with Sales Lead, Cheryl and her teammates, Jason and Heather who work around the clock answering questions and booking fibre installations.

“Now, everyone is getting to know Peter, Cheryl and the Snidey’s team and seeing that they are really invested in getting people connected to this great Internet service,” Shane said.

Cheryl does everything she can to make sure customer’s needs are met as quickly as possible. She knows how important fibre Internet is to rural Nova Scotians.

One new customer, Clarke Billinghurst, had this experience firsthand. He and his family moved to Annapolis Valley all the way from Vancouver Island where they already used fibre Internet.

“I said to Cheryl, we need this ASAP. We had no way to connect to the Internet or to make calls. She got me connected within a day or so. She’s been very responsive,” Clarke said.

They have family in the United States, British Columbia and Ontario and rely on the Internet to stay in touch.

“One of the main advantages for us, because we have poor cell service, it allows us to do Wi-Fi calling which has made a big difference,” he said.

Shane said that having fibre has meant a lot to local businesses too.

“There’s a lot of folks that are running businesses that really struggled and there are people that were unable to work properly from home. It’s been a game changer for them,” he said.

Xplore recently acquired the Annapolis County fibre network. Since then, they’ve been committed to expanding the fibre network to provide reliable Internet services to customers in Annapolis County.

Shane says that what separates Xplore from competitors is their unwavering long-term commitment to rural Nova Scotians.

“15 years later, Xplore is still committed to rural areas but now we’re bringing fibre internet with no data caps and no limitations to what people can do with the service,” he said.

The Snidey’s team lives in rural Nova Scotia too so they take pride in connecting their neighbours to gigabit speed Internet.

“We know that it means to finally have big city internet in a rural area,” he said.
